Each Sunday the Weekly Stock Selector neural network searches for new stock picks. It evaluates approximately 6800 stocks. The twenty stocks with the highest scores are recommended and placed in our Top Twenty Stock Pick portfolio at the bottom of this page. To follow the system you are required to visit the website each Sunday to see new stock pick recommendations.
The inputs to the neural network are mainly fundamental in nature. The neural net takes into consideration things like; earnings surprises, earnings estimate revisions, change in brokerage recommendations, recent price movement, risk issues, plus others. Compared to other stocks in the WSS database, the top twenty stocks invariably are those who have superior earnings and price growth expectations. A stock is held in the portfolio until it is replaced with another which has better expectations. Positions can be held for a week or longer then a year. Each week two or three stocks usually drop out and are replaced with new stock picks.
For comparison purposes I use the NASDAQ as a benchmark. While the top twenty usually isn't loaded with high tech issues it, like the NASDAQ, is rather volatile in nature. The Trading History table below is updated each Sunday.
